A lovely reflection, Conor. I first came across your Substack right about the time that you quit your job and went full-time. I found it very intriguing that someone would quit a job to just write about stocks. I've enjoyed your newsletter ever since then, and even better I'd like to think I've made a friend. I wish you a wonderful new year and an even stronger 2022!!
There are tons of investment Newsletters out there, but you don't seem to have a very well defined Niche, and maybe the unique value proposition is more that you talk in a community setting on Discord about all of these things without a defined niche, maybe community is your forte and your niche.
As an investor I want your Newsletter to give me ROI, your Newsletter is fun to read in a general sense but in its current state wouldn't ordinarily do that.
So that your top of funnel is strong and your conversions (not sure how much you charged!) is weaker is totally normal. Also investing Newsletters will see more churn as the Market gets more volatile as it did during 2021, not your fault. I do think your Newsletter doesn't fit in a well defined niche and the product-market fit is thus "harder to stand out", but what do I know?

Great insights Conor, especially for writers who are looking to go down a similar route. The honesty is refreshing. All the best for 2022.
